1986 – Mr. Marcos Antonio Molina dos Santos Started His First Business

When he was only 16 years old, delivering fresh meats to local restaurants in his hometown of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Only two years later, Mr. Molina dos Santos established himself as an important distributor of cuts of cattle, pork, chicken, fish and imported vegetables in the state of São Paulo, with a diverse portfolio of customers, including many of the top restaurants in the city of São Paulo. In 1998, the activities of the first distribution center in the city of Santo André, state of São Paulo, were initiated, in order to serve the growing demand for products. Soon, others saw the value of his service and business began to expand throughout Brazil, then Argentina, Uruguay, Chile then Europe, the Middle East, and finally North America. Today, Marfrig Alimentos S.A. is a multinational company employing nearly 100,000 people with over 150 facilities operating in the food and food service sectors in 22 countries across 5 continents.
